Pacific Grove, Calif. – March 15, 2023 – Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula (MOWMP) announced today it will host a Health Fair at the Meals on Wheels Community Center (MOWCC), Thursday, March 23 from 8:30am to 11am.
The event is free and open to all communities throughout Monterey County. Vendors include Montage Health, ITN Monterey County, Synchronicity Holistic, Alzheimer’s Association, and Central Coast Senior Services, among other providers who will be providing information and education about a variety of topics as they relate to an individual’s overall health and wellness.
“It’s important for members of our community to have a wide variety of health options available to them along with the education to make the process to engage as simple as possible,” says Christine Winge, executive director at MOWMP. “We have many large programs serving seniors, disabled adults, and veterans, and a majority of our clients are social, active, and eager to learn.”
The MOWCC is located at 700 Jewell Avenue in Pacific Grove and is a valuable resource to support the community both mentally and physically. Programs, classes, and activities are mostly offered at no cost and MOWMP partners with other nonprofit organizations, schools, and members of the community to offer classes, lectures, and legal services, as well as other one-on-one and group services.
Winge concludes, “We look forward to bringing together local organizations and educating attendees on the importance of healthy, sustainable habits to improve their lives.”
