Pacific Grove, Calif. – February 3, 2022 – Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula (MOWMP) announced today it has partnered with Pacific Grove High School (PGHS) – an educational institution committed to providing students with opportunities that will steer their lives toward academic, career, and personal success – to provide artisan cheesecakes made by its Culinary Arts class and hand-crafted cake stands made by its Ceramics class in support of homebound seniors, disabled adults, and veterans across the Monterey Peninsula.
More than 20 cakes and stands were created and gifted to the Meals on Wheels Community Center (MOWCC) and are being offered for sale as a package for $30 in support of the organization’s core program: Home Delivered Meals. The benefit will take place Monday, February 14, at the MOWCC from 10am to 2pm. If you are interested in reserving a package, please call 831-375-4454.
This community partnership is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable adults receive the nutrition and daily socialization they need to live healthily and remain in their homes.
Of the partnership, MOWMP Executive Director, Christine Winge says, “Our partnership with PG High has allowed us to offer heartfelt, homemade gifts made by local students that not only look great, but taste great, too!” Winge continues, “This program helps us raise awareness about our Home Delivered Meals program as well as other programs we have here at the Meals on Wheels Community Center. We are deeply thankful to the students and their instructors for thinking of us.”
